Alhaji (Dr.) Umaru Abdul Mutallab CON Business Guide

Prominent business leader and former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chartered Accountant and Banker; former Executive Vice Chairman and Managing Director of United Bank for Africa (UBA) – the third largest bank in Nigeria and an affiliate of BNP Paribas. He is a holder of one of the highest National Awards in Nigeria – Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON). Abdul Mutallab has also been conferred with the Fellowship of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) of UK and the Institute of International Bankers Association (FIBA) of the United States of America.

Dr. Mutallab, one of Nigeria’s most respected bankers, was former Minister for Economic Development in 1975 and of Cooperatives and Supplies in 1976. He served as a member of Nigeria’s Federal Executive Council from 1975 to 1978. He was the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of the United Bank for Africa. He is the current Chairman of Jaiz Bank International Plc. His extensive experience of serving on the Board of Directors of several companies such as Nigeria Agip Oil, Arewa Textile Limited, Nigerian Communications Commission and other organizations will be invaluable to IHVN, a local organization mitigating the spread of HIV and other infectious diseases.

Alh. Mutallab, who holds the title of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), one of the highest honors in Nigeria, is also the chair of Business Support Group (BSG), an arm of Vision 20: 2020, which is one of the corner stones of the economic policies of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
